Joy Pod students have started their puppet residency today. Please ask your child what they were working on with our puppeteer.
Attention Parents Of Eric Harvie School:
Tomorrow is 'Hats Off for Mental Health Day' so all children & staff are invited to wear hats during the school day - there will be notes in blogs reminding parents as well. Eric Harvie School fully supports many forms of mental health awareness!
Here is the official message from Alberta Education/CBE:
On Wednesday, May 1, 2019, Albertans are invited to take part in Hats On! For Mental Health and wear a hat to raise awareness of the importance of positive mental health. Schools can participate by encouraging students and staff to wear hats and engaging in conversations focused on understanding mental health and the importance of removing the stigma associated with mental illness.
You can learn more about Hats On! For Mental Health by visiting canwetalk.ca, a website sponsored by the Alberta Teachers’ Association and the Canadian Mental Health Association that includes a variety of mental health resources for schools.
The focus on mental health promotion continues during Mental Health Week, which is being held this year from May 6 to 10. Students who are mentally healthy are resilient and better able to learn, achieve success and build healthy relationships.
You can learn more about supporting positive mental health in schools by visiting the Alberta government website at www.alberta.ca/mental-health-in-schools.aspx.
Thanks for your support!
Welcome to the last day of April
Hopefully April Showers/Snow will bring some flowers.
The Eric Harvie School plant fundraiser will be a great way to bring some
colour to our yards.

Eric Harvie School Spring Fundraiser 2019
Dear Parents/Guardians,
This spring we are selling beautiful, locally grown flowers, and plants to help raise money for our programs. Fundraising is always a vital part of ensuring the students have the best year possible. The money raised is used to help cover costs for programs, equipment, resources, and extra-curricular activities. It also takes some of the financial burden off the parents – allowing more kids to participate in activities, such as Artistsin Residence (WP Puppeteers) and school special events (including our Film Festival in June).
Important Notes:
- Please ensure customers makes cheques payable to : Eric Harvie School
- Our team website (to place online orders and view plants in color) is located at: https://ericharvie.growingsmilesfundraising.com/home
- Please try to sell only to your family, friends and close neighbours. (Parents may take order forms to work to collect sales if desired).
- We do not encourage young students soliciting door-to-door sales for safety reasons.
- Plants are supplied by DeVry Greenhouses
