Pajama party THE POLAR EXPRESS with Parent Council...
December 6th 6:30-8:00pm
Activities in the Hub 6:30-7:30pm
Cookie decorating, Create your own bell necklace,
decorate a cookie bag and create a star to fill our night sky.
Special reading of the Polar Express in the gym 7:30-8:30
Concession will be stocked with hot chocolate, popcorn, etc.
Each participating child requires a ticket, $5/child
Parent/Guardian must accompany child at event
Space is limited; ticket order deadline is November 23rf

Donations Needed!
Joy Pod is in need of some school-appropriate liquids (may include but not limited to household chemicals, oil, sauce, juice, pop, or milk). It would be okay if the containers have been opened and part of content has been used/poured out. We plan to use collected liquids in inquiry lessons. Please ensure that liquids that you send are in their original containers to ensure that we can handle these in a safe manner. Thank you!

Joy Pod Assembly: Students are excitedly working on the different aspects of our Peace Assembly.  The theme for our assembly is "Joy."  Students are contributing in different ways to this assembly either through artwork, technology, drama, citizenship, community building and/or music.  Ask your child what is their contribution so far for the assembly.  
Parents of Joy Pod are invited to join us for our assembly on Friday, November 30th at 11:00 am.



Spreading Joy beyond Eric Harvie School... The student in the joy pod are working hard to fill socks for those less fortunate.  We are collecting the following items for The Mustard Seed:  If you are able to support us in this amazing work, please send these items to school:

Today we had our fun snack (pretzel) and our Cross Curricular Time (C.C.Time) with either Mr. Simmons, Mr. Kelly or Mrs. Kinsman.  Please ask me to share what we did and my favorite part of the book, "The Boy Named Bat."

Student Led Conferences this week November 22 (1:00-7:00) and 23. (8:00-1:00).  Please book a conference as we look forward to seeing you and the students are excited to share their learning and the different spaces in our school.

Math: Students continue to learn about "Patterns and Relations" from the teachers in Joy Pod.  Parents will have the opportunity to work along their children in the various rooms to share their learning at Student Led Conferences on November 22 and 23.

Joy Pod
 Welcome 
We would like to welcome Ms. Annya Hosseini to Joy Pod as she helps to support our transition.  As well, we would like to welcome our student teachers from the University of Calgary, Ms. Joanne Koh and Ms. Sarah Galbraith.  They will be working specifically with Joy Pod students and are with us till December 14th.  Please welcome our student teachers when you meet them this week at conferences.  We also have a student educational assistant from Bow Valley College, Sierra Middlemiss. We are lucky to have so many helpful hands supporting our learners in Joy Pod.

Parents of Grade Two Students:
All missed Grade 2 students who parents gave permission to participate in the University of Calgary, regarding the impact of fluoridation in the city's water were seen today.  IF your child was seen today they will be bringing home a note.

Hello. We are students from the Joy Pod. We are working on helping the Mustard Seed by collecting some items that they need. The Mustard Seed helps people who don’t have a home. The Mustard Seed gives them a home and food.
The Mustard Seed is collecting:
