Twin Valley Farms Field Trip June 2019
We are very excited to provide the opportunity for the current classes of Grade 1/2 students to participate in the Twin Valley Farms Field Trip experience this June! This is a very special experience that takes place at Twin Valley Farms, a very large ranch just southeast of Nanton, AB, offering students an up-close-and-personal experience learning how food is grown and raised in the province of Alberta.
Twin Valley Farms offers students opportunities to see farm equipment up close and in action, live animals (mostly spring babies), seeding plans, learn how drones are used on the farm, how grain is made into flour and observe a giant-sized water irrigation system actually working – sometimes even a crop dusting plane will fly by just to ‘wave’ at the students.
The Joy Pod will be going to Twin Valley Farm for a field trip on Wednesday, June 19th. We will be traveling by coach bus and will not return to the school between 4:00-4:30pm.
Thank you we have all the volunteers that we need.

Today, Eric Harvie students were treated to a special visit by world champion Olympian Catriona LeMay Doan. She had great messages to share with our young aspiring students. Please ask your child about what they learned and took away from her visit.
"Catriona's aim is to inspire students by sharing Hall of Famers’ stories and personal experiences in an assembly-style presentation to increase their awareness and appreciation of overcoming significant obstacles when setting and achieving attainable goals. We want to equip youth with critical life skills, lessons and tools for success by bringing them together with an iconic Canadian figure in sport for a powerful moment where sport teaches more than sport."
